I have been writing and recording Jewish music for eighteen years. Eighteen years can seem like a long time when you are eighteen years old, which I was when I recorded my first album. Looking back on the past eighteen years it feels as if no time has passed at all. And sometimes these eighteen years feel timeless. For it is not the passage of time that I hold sacred but the experiences and memories.
The importance of time takes on new meaning when I look at the songs collected on this recording. They represent eighteen years of special moments in my life. Weddings and Bar Mitzvahs, births and deaths, opportunities for growth, learning, introspection and discovery. They represent my life.
